Only Eight Months to Go

We are making excellent progress with the planning of the Festival.

The Street Parade will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the festival.

A fantastic addition to the parade will be a team of bullocks coming from Nowra to pull the old bullock wagon that is currently on display in the Historical Society. The wagon originally belonged to Bob Clack. It was used to transport wool across to the train at Marulen in the early 1900’s. After languishing in a paddock for many years, it was rescued and restored by a member of the Historical Society.

The bullocks will be called up individually by name and they will take their allotted place in the team. This in itself will be spectacular to watch.

It is planned to have several commentary points along the route of the parade to en-sure that everyone can gain a little knowledge of the history behind each of the entrants in the parade.

We are also working on a Phone Ap that will have a live stream of the parade and other events during the festival. This will include streaming of the live commentary accompanying the parade.

We are hoping that visitors to the festival will get in the spirit and dress in period costume . With 200 years of history there is plenty of scope for some amazing costumes from different eras.

Floats for the parade

Quite a few organisations have indicated that they will be entering a float in the Street Parade. If you have not yet done so please call Max Keith the organizer of the parade on 48438163 and let him know your intentions.
